Tulips
For me, nothing compares to the subtle, understated elegance of the genus Tulipa. I’ve planted a few thousand of them (over 50 varieties), usually about 100-150 per year, at almost every place I’ve lived. Their annual arrival is a primary reason that spring is my favorite time of year.
